ACK!
My goodness, it’s been MONTHS since I’ve updated this thing…
Well, time to play catch-up.
First off, new fics and such… check the link to my fanfic page to check ‘em out, I’ve too much to get out to post individual links.
I’ve added to my Psalmfiction collection, and I’ve written the prologue and first chapter to ‘Solid as Stone’… finally. Check ‘em out!
Also have a couple projects in the works, including this year’s Christmas fic, which should be out before too long.
NaNoWriMo hit with a vengeance this year. Last year I didn’t even get halfway, and didn’t even know what I was writing about until about three days into it. This year… my plot thumped me over the head the month before, simmered all October long, and came out flying when November came along. I spat out 61,000 words or so and STILL I’m not done with the draft. And that’s only the first part… it’s turning into a trilogy.
So, on that note, I started up another blog on more general writing topics. Still getting it on its feet, but check it out at www.beyondthemerewords.wordpress.com.
Finally, the Lion Awards over on The Lion’s Call have come and gone again… this year I took home the Inkling Award, the award given for best emulation of Lewis’s style, for At the Sound of His Roar. One of my favorite awards of the ones offered, and one of my favorite pieces. I was pretty pleased.
Well, this was a quick li’l catch-up post… so we’ll leave it at that for now.
After Day Three of NaNoWriMo…
…I’m still keeping up. I’ve done at least 1,667 words a day, which is what I need to do, so that’s a good thing. Word count stands at 5,076 as of last night… tenth of the way there. Still don’t know exactly where my plot is going, but I have a general idea, at least. And it features a unicorn!
What did I get myself into?
Oh boy, now I’ve gone and done it. This is gonna have some interesting consequences. I have no idea whether I’ll survive it or not. I’m not even sure whether it was a good idea or not. It was a crazy one, that’s for sure, but only time will tell if it was a good one.
I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo.
Yes, I’m going to attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I have a vague plotline in my head, which is a good thing, but whether I’ll be able to do it… well, that’s another matter. Fanfiction will most likely take a back burner while I participate, so I doubt you’ll see anything new that’s Narnia-related for a while. However, I will keep things updated on my NaNoWriMo progress as best as I can.
This is gonna be a bumpy ride… we’ll see what happens!
Welcome
Well, if you’ve found this you’ve stumbled upon my writing update thingamabob. Figured this would be a good way to keep myself straight on what’s going on as well as give my readers a way of seeing what’s comin’. Too tired to do so at the moment, but I guess I’ll post links to my current ones sooner or later.
For those of you as of yet unaware, I stick to Narnian fanfiction. It’s what I know, and it’s what I do. I also write articles for The Lion’s Call, a great Narnian website.
Currently I’m working on starting my latest piece, detailing Tirian and Jewel’s friendship and how they came to be each other’s ‘dearest friend.’ Prologue is giving me a headache, I’ve tried it three times already and I still can’t quite get it right, but this latest version seems to be doing the trick.
I’m also hoping to get back to the second chapter of Rise of King Miraz, a piece about Miraz’s rise to power, once I get some work done on my LB fic. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll be for a little while, seeing as I barely have time to DO any such work, and what work I AM doing is a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. But we’ll see.
