Fanfic: The Rise of King Miraz
This is my biggest project so far. (Read: my first multichaptered fic.) This one started out as a contest entry for The Lion’s Call. The subject? Write a short piece about a missing scene from Prince Caspian. I wrote a short piece about the first two of the many lords Miraz bumped off that were only briefly mentioned by Doctor Cornelius. That piece slowly decided to expand itself into a fanfic about how Miraz came to overthrow his brother and become the King of Narnia. Currently I’ve only got one chapter up, and a second in the works.
Title: The Rise of King Miraz
Rating: PG (just for safety where future chapters are concerned)
Summary: Doctor Cornelius did not have the time to give Caspian X a detailed explanation of Miraz’s rise to power. I, however, do. This is my take on just how Caspian X’s uncle overthrew his brother and claimed Narnia for his own.
Oneshot: I Am the Lion
This was my first shot at something that wasn’t poetry…sort of. I still think it’s kinda poetic, but it’s not a poem per se, so you get the idea. Anyway, this one came to me on a holiday weekend, on my way back to college. The line ‘I am the Lion’ popped in my head, wouldn’t leave me alone, and manifested itself into this piece. It seems this is the most popular of my stuff so far. This was also the first piece that entwined my faith with Chronicles, which is the kind of piece I like best.
Title: I Am the Lion
Rating: G
Summary: Aslan reminds us all of what he has done for Narnia…and for us.
Poem: Decision at the Door
This was written for a Prince Caspian-themed poetry contest on The Lion’s Call. My favorite part is the bit at the Door in the Air, so that’s what I based my entry on. Interestingly, though I didn’t win, the poem that did also dealt with the Door in the Air.Title: Decision at the Door

Summary: Retelling of the events at the Door in the Air, written as a poem.(click to read Decision at the Door)![]()
Poem: Shattered Stone
This one came about through one of my articles. A painting of Aslan by the broken Stone Table accompanied it, and it wouldn’t go away. It sat there and sat there in my mind until it wove itself into another poem. This time around it was the first two lines that slipped into my head, and the rest quickly followed. This one’s my favorite of the poems, I think.Title: Shattered Stone
Rating: G
Summary: The scene at the Stone Table, as a poem.
Poem: In Memory of the Monarchs
This was my first shot at Narnian fanfiction. I was struggling with a piece I was writing, and thought that maybe what I needed was something of a different style in order to unstick my writer’s block. A few days before, the lines, “Magnificent, Valiant, Gentle and Just / Remember we will, and remember we must” had popped into my head. So I decided to take them and turn them into a poem. The thought of how the Narnians felt after the Pevensies left intrigued me, so I had my subject and my final lines. The rest followed soon after.Title: In Memory of the Monarchs
Rating: G
Summary: The Monarchs of the Golden Age were not forgotten when they vanished. A poem from the Narnians lamenting their loss.
Welcome
Well, if you’ve found this you’ve stumbled upon my writing update thingamabob. Figured this would be a good way to keep myself straight on what’s going on as well as give my readers a way of seeing what’s comin’. Too tired to do so at the moment, but I guess I’ll post links to my current ones sooner or later.
For those of you as of yet unaware, I stick to Narnian fanfiction. It’s what I know, and it’s what I do. I also write articles for The Lion’s Call, a great Narnian website.
Currently I’m working on starting my latest piece, detailing Tirian and Jewel’s friendship and how they came to be each other’s ‘dearest friend.’ Prologue is giving me a headache, I’ve tried it three times already and I still can’t quite get it right, but this latest version seems to be doing the trick.
I’m also hoping to get back to the second chapter of Rise of King Miraz, a piece about Miraz’s rise to power, once I get some work done on my LB fic. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll be for a little while, seeing as I barely have time to DO any such work, and what work I AM doing is a bit more difficult than I thought it would be. But we’ll see.
